Estimating emissions

It’s hard to act on what you haven’t measured. Neutralizing your activity’s carbon footprint first requires estimating its carbon emissions.

Patch Estimates enable API users to calculate the approximate amount of carbon generated by key activities. They can also be used to determine the cost of compensating a given amount of CO₂.

ESTIMATES

Five types of estimates can be calculated through the API:

Passenger vehicles

Used to estimate emissions generated by driving a passenger vehicle—for climate-positive ride sharing, food deliveries, household driving, and more.

Passenger flights

Used to estimate emissions generated by taking a flight, paving the way to things like climate-positive tourism and corporate travel.

Shipping

Used to estimate emissions generated by shipping via air, rail, road, or sea—for climate-positive ecommerce, freight, and logistics.

Cryptocurrency

Used to estimate emissions generated by blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. This can translate to climate-positive NFTs, digital asset ETFs, crypto trading apps, and more.

Ecommerce

Patch can also enable ecommerce platforms to easily allocate fixed dollar amounts or a percentage of total revenue to carbon removal projects by using our no code solution.
